The intent of the MICA Mentorship Program is to pair experienced officers, warrant officers, and noncommissioned officers with up-and-coming soldiers in order to provide a low risk personal forum for discussion of topics of mutual concern.
LOOKING FOR MENTORS - MICA is currently looking for individuals to provide mentoring. Many individuals owning a MICA MEMBERSHIP could qualify to participate in the program. Contact execdir@micorps.org.
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MENTOR - It requires that you be sincerely interested in the growth of someone else. You will have the satisfaction of having done an important job and create life long friendships.
WHO TYPICALLY BECOMES A MENTOR? The answers are as varied as the people involved. Some were lucky enough to have had a great mentor and want to repay that. Others just want to help out, be a positive influence, or give something to their MI community.
Whatever your reason for being a mentor, you will find it a special experience. Nothing can quite match the self satisfaction one gets from sharing their experiences to help others. If you are interested CONTACT MICA for details. |
